Elsa St-Onge is named the new Community Engagement and Planning Officer with the Réseau du mieux-être francophone du Nord de l’Ontario

Sudbury – The Réseau du mieux-être francophone du Nord de l’Ontario (RMEFNO) is pleased to announce the nomination of Elsa St-Onge as Community Engagement and Planning Officer for the North Cochrane region (Hearst, Kapuskasing, Smooth Rock Falls, Cochrane, Iroquois Falls and Matheson).

Ms. St-Onge will be starting her new role on August 5, 2014 and will be located in the new offices of the RMEFNO at 801 George Street in Hearst.

Ms. St-Onge has worked as a Recruitment and Communications Assistant at the Université de Hearst and as a Research Assistant for the Centre régionale de recherche et d’intervention en développement économique et communautaire (CRRIDEC). In the context of her Master’s research project, Ms. St-Onge evaluated the community engagement model of the Carrefours santé. This model has been adopted by the RMEFNO to encourage Francophones in Northern Ontario to become involved in the identification of the needs of their community.

Diane Quintas, Executive Director of the RMEFNO, is pleased to welcome Ms. St-Onge as the new member of the RMEFNO team. “Her experience in the area of research and community engagement, along with her commitment toward the identification of the health care needs of Francophones, will be an added asset for the RMEFNO in attaining its goals.”

The RMEFNO aims to ensure that Francophones in Northern Ontario have access to a range of quality French healthcare programs and services that meets their needs.
