Health Service Provider: Manoir North Centennial Manor

Manoir North Centennial Manor, a long-term care home in Kapuskasing designated under the French Language Services Act, has reached important milestones this year by initiating its application for full designation. The team stands out for its exemplary practices, such as proactive scheduling to ensure a Francophone presence on every shift, and financial support to encourage staff to take French as a second language courses. Thanks to these many initiatives and its strong community ties, the Manor is recognized as a preferred home for Francophones.

Congratulations to the entire team!

Community Organization: Dr. Nicole Ranger, Dr. Meghan Cusack, and Dr. Mélanie Patrie

The Réseau is proud to present its recognition award to Dr. Nicole Ranger, Dr. Meghan Cusack, and Dr. Mélanie Patrie for their outstanding commitment to French-language health services in the North. Through their leadership, clinical simulations and terminology workshops are now offered in French—a first! They also helped make active offer training mandatory at NOSM University, while working to develop a Francophone stream in medicine.

Thank you for your tangible and inspiring impact!

Volunteer: Jean-Pierre Bergevin

The Réseau pays tribute to Jean-Pierre Bergevin, a pillar of Northern Ontario’s Francophone community, for his exceptional dedication. A professor at the Université de Hearst for over 50 years, he has shaped generations of students and helped establish the Centre Labelle Centre and the Graduate Diploma in Psychotherapy, fostering a Francophone mental health workforce. His impact extends beyond academia—he played a key role in setting up various mental health and addictions services and has been deeply involved with youth through numerous cultural and community projects. Selfless and devoted, Jean-Pierre continues to support his community with passion.

Congratulations on this well-deserved award! 🏅
